A popular Hudson Valley restaurant is the best-reviewed lunch destination in upstate New York, according to a brand new report that was released.

Citing data from Yelp, NewYorkUpstate has released its new report of the municipalities that feature the top businesses in categories ranging from best pizzeria to specialty stops such as vegetarian restaurants and sushi bars. Factors that determine ranking include the number of reviews, star ranking and number of negative reviews.”

The report only includes restaurants from upstate - which is considered north of Westchester and Rockland counties - in the rankings. "Best" has been measured using an algorithm that looks at the number of reviews and star rating for a business, as well as other factors like the number of negative reviews and recency of reviews.

Rossi Rosticceria Deli on South Clover Street in Poughkeepsie landed at the top spot on the list. The report cited 352 nearly universally positive reviews, which earned them a five-star rating.

"Love this place crazy amounts!! The sandwiches are huge and so incredibly delicious. So flavorful and all the ingredients are super authentic Italian and fresh. You can't go wrong with any of the special sandwich's but I personally prefer to build my own. The house-made focaccia is to DIEEE for! They also have hot meals that change daily and lots of other Italian delicatessen staples," one Yelp reviewer advised. "Be warned- it is busy around lunchtime, but the line moves fast and I've always had all my food made exactly how I ordered. Can't rave enough about this place and I recommend it to anyone! Nothing like it and one of my absolute favorite hometown gems."
